My piano compositions are here.
Music communicates, it makes statements, it conveys messages, it expresses emotions.
Music has its own syntax, its own rhetoric, even its own semantics (Edward T. Cone, The composer’s Voice, 1974). The musical narrative can be recognized by a series of functional events that are displayed in succession.
Some scholars insist that music is no more than pure sound structure, while others believe in its capacity of expressing deep thoughts and profound emotions of human experience.
I believe in sounds structured to tell some story, event, or sensation.
